DJK Counsel (“DJK,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect when you visit djkcounsel.com (the “Site”), how we use and share it, and the choices you have. It also serves as our notice at collection for California residents.
This Privacy Policy covers the Site only. Information that clients share with us in the course of a legal engagement is governed by our engagement agreement, the attorney-client privilege, and our professional obligations, not by this policy.
Contacting us through the Site does not create an attorney-client relationship. Please do not send confidential or time-sensitive information through the Site until we have confirmed in writing that we represent you.
Information We Collect
Information you provide
- Contact and inquiry forms: your name, email address, phone number, company, and the content of your message when you contact us or ask to set up a call.
- Email subscriptions: your email address when you sign up to receive our insights and updates.
- Other communications: information you choose to share when you email or call us.
Information collected automatically
When you visit the Site, we and our service providers may automatically collect information about your device and how you interact with the Site, including your IP address, approximate location derived from your IP address, browser type, operating system, device identifiers, referring website, the pages you view, the links you click, and the dates and times of your visits.
Most of this information is collected through cookies and similar technologies. Except for cookies that are strictly necessary for the Site to work, these technologies are not activated until you accept them through our cookie banner. Analytics and Advertising
With your consent, we use third-party analytics and advertising services on the Site. These services set cookies or use similar technologies to collect the automatically collected information described above. The services we currently use include:
- Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, and Google Ads (Google LLC), used to measure Site traffic, measure the results of our advertising campaigns, and deliver advertising. - PostHog (PostHog, Inc.), a product analytics service used to understand how visitors navigate the Site.
- HubSpot (HubSpot, Inc.), used to manage our contacts and communications and to understand how visitors interact with the Site.
- Jetpack Stats (Automattic Inc.), used to compile aggregate statistics about Site traffic.
We do not use analytics or advertising cookies until you accept them, and you can withdraw your acceptance at any time through the Cookie Preferences link.
How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information for money. We share personal information only as described here:
- Service providers that host the Site, deliver our email, manage our contacts, provide analytics and advertising services, and protect the Site from security threats. These providers may use your information only to perform services for us.
- Advertising partners. If you accept marketing cookies, Google may collect information about your visit through cookies on the Site in order to measure and deliver advertising. Under California law, this may be considered “sharing” of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. You can opt out at any time as described under “Your California Privacy Rights.”
- Legal and professional obligations, when we believe disclosure is required by law, court order, or our professional rules, or is necessary to protect our rights, our clients, or others.
- Business transfers, if DJK is involved in a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets, subject to the confidentiality obligations that apply to us.
Your California Privacy Rights
To the extent the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (together, the “CCPA”), applies to us, California residents have the following rights:
- Right to know what personal information we collect, use, disclose, and share, and to receive a copy of it.
- Right to delete personal information we have collected from you, subject to legal exceptions, including our obligation to retain client records.
- Right to correct inaccurate personal information.
- Right to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information. You can do this at any time by declining or withdrawing marketing cookies through the Cookie Preferences link. We also honor Global Privacy Control signals sent by your browser as a request to opt out.
- Right to non-discrimination for exercising any of these rights.

We will need to verify your identity before responding, which may include matching the information you provide with information we already hold. You may designate an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf, in which case we may ask for proof of the agent’s authority.

In the 12 months before the effective date of this policy, we collected the following categories of personal information through the Site:

We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal information through the Site. We retain personal information for as long as needed for the purposes described above, and then for as long as required by law or our professional record-keeping obligations. Analytics data is retained according to the retention settings of each service, generally between 2 and 26 months.
Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
If your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal, the Site treats it as a decision to decline non-essential cookies, and analytics and advertising services are not loaded for your visit.
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect personal information, including encrypted connections to the Site and security monitoring of our hosting environment. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, which is another reason not to send confidential matters through the Site before we have been engaged.
Children
The Site is intended for business audiences and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Links to Other Sites
The Site contains links to third-party websites, including Google Maps and social media platforms. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites, and we encourage you to read their privacy policies.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the effective date at the top of this page. Material changes will be highlighted on the Site.
